Derek Blasberg

Derek Blasberg

What is your name and where are you currently?
Derek Blasberg, New York City
*
Are you where you normally live?
A city so nice they named it twice: New York, New York
*
What are you currently reading?
Life isnt Everything
*
What are you currently watching?
'Normal People,' which is basically 'Call Me By Your Name' for heterosexuals. (I Tweeted that.)
*
What are you currently listening to?
Nothing. I'm saving myself for Adele's new album.
*
What have you been eating the most? Do you have a recipe to share?
I eat quite a bit of cereal. Honey Nut Cheerios, primarily. I can barely make a takeout order so I have no recipe suggestions. For that, go on YouTube!
*
How are you moving your body/exercising?
I do a daily workout with some of my girlfriends via video conference with Mary Hellen Bowers from Ballet Beautiful.
*

If you’re buying anything, what is it?
The only clothes I've bought are PJ's from Lands End and trainers from Nike.
*
What’s one new thing you started doing big or small since this all happened?
I'm basically a fulltime tech support team for my parents.
*
Tell me about your evening routine! And your morning one too!
I do a family FaceTime call with my parents every night at 7pm. I can't sleep if there's any unread messages in my inbox, so I go thru the day's emails, then go into bed and read the Post, some of my book, watch some TV. I'm an insomniac so it takes me hours to wind down and fall asleep.
*
What’s one way big or small that you’ve been helping others?
I volunteer with Citymeals on Wheels. (It was the only thing I did for my birthday this year.) You should do it too! Go to citymeals.org for more info.
*
What keeps you sane?
I'll let you know when I'm sane.
*
What one thing can’t you wait to do?
Vote.
*
Who has been the most interesting/unexpected person you’ve spoken with since this started?
What's been much more interesting is that for once in my life I haven't had to talk to anyone I don't want to.
*
What’s one thing you’re grateful for?
Only one thing? I'm grateful for every little thing nowadays.
